Karla is an accomplished business manager with more than 25 years of providing financial and fiscal leadership to government, education and business organizations. She has extensive experience in management consulting to both public and private organizations, public program design and management, delivery of training services and procurement and contract management.
Karla served as an administrator for a suburban public school district in New Jersey for 18 years and is certified as both a school business administrator and purchasing agent. Her responsibilities included all areas of district operations, including budget ($115+ million) development, implementation and management, capital improvements, financial reporting, internal accounting controls, purchasing, borrowing, investing, transportation, food services, insurance and risk management, facilities management, payroll, payables, receivables, administrative technology, staff development, staff supervision and evaluation, employee collective bargaining and contract negotiation. Other professional experience related to education and employment training included contract management of federal funds for youth employment and training programs: performed needs assessment and analysis; designed and developed programs; procured services; negotiated contracts; performed contract and program management; established and conducted evaluation. She also has significant experience assisting local, national and international organizations in issue analysis and program design related to education and employment and training as a consultant. Karla performs operations and contract management oversight for IPI engagements in addition to incubation management consulting. A graduate of the University of Nebraska, Karla earned an MBA (finance and marketing) from Rutgers University. |
