PortTechforum and PortTechEXPOs

A forum is a place where ideas and views can be exchanged. The monthly PortTechforum, was created by IPI to connect PortTechLA clients with tech investors, advisors, business leaders and local service providers, key members of the local ecosystem. Entrepreneurs came together, discussed common business topics, received training unique to managing a technology business and made connections that could help them manage their business, finance their venture, negotiate a contract, compete for grants, or enhance their marketing plan. The PortTechforum grew from a few people sitting around a conference table exchanging ideas to include entrepreneurs, service providers and capital providers from all of Southern California.

Then annual PortTechEXPO Venture Conference offered seminars, roundtable discussions and demonstrations of clean technology for ports. Maritime industry leaders and government leaders were featured speakers. The highlight of each conference was the Venture Capital Competition, supported by local investors and service providers, selected entrepreneurs were given an opportunity to pitch their company.
